Where are you from?

I was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Denton, TX and Washington, DC. I always say I’m from everywhere!

What do you do? How did this “role” come about? How and why are you best known by others?

Before I graduated, I decided to become a licensed real estate agent. A Soror and mentor of mine introduced to me another Soror who is a successful real estate agent in the DFW area! Shout out to Andrea T. Fowler, she was an essential part in my journey to becoming a real estate agent! I am currently working on developing my personal brand and finding my niche in the real estate industry.

Did you attend college and/or have formal training in your respective field or industry? If so, please elaborate on the year you graduated and from what institution.

I attended college at the University of North Texas. I received my Bachelor of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis, May 13, 2017. I became a licensed Texas real estate agent in December 2016.

What factors of your upbringing influenced your career goals?

Growing up, I always dreamed of being my own boss. My father owns an insurance agency and I saw the flexibility it provided him and the passion he had for his field. My parents always wanted me to be a doctor or lawyer, but honestly, that’s a little too much structure for me. My interest in real estate began with a desire to encourage people to create generational wealth through owning real estate.  My grandparents have owned rental properties for over 20 years and I have seen first-hand how generational wealth was created through their rental properties. I want to encourage and inspire all millennials to own real estate!

How long have you been in this career? What did you do previously?

I have been in real estate since January 2017, before I started my career I was working on completing my undergraduate degree.

What long-term goals do you have? What steps are you currently taking in this direction?

One of my long-term goals is to have at least 3 sources for passive income. Outside of real estate, I am currently working on my second and third way to create passive income by creating my own personal brand that includes blogging and fashion!

Tell us about your social media presence. Do you use it in your line of work? Why or why not, is it important in your day-to-day responsibilities, platform or career?

I love social media! I have been using social media for the past 4 years. Over the past few months, I realized the importance social media plays in my personal goals and professional life. The more consistent I am on social media, the more consistency I see with my engagement and growing social media following. Most of my business opportunities come from Instagram!

Which public figures, role models and or historical figure shaped your goals as a child and in adulthood? Any that embodies your personal values?

One of my role models is definitely my older sister. She’s been my cheerleader for so long. She’s a go-getter and I aspire to be just as diligent as she is!

What does it mean to you to be a millennial? How do you share that with others in your life, those you meet and with your peers?

In my opinion being a millennial is the best thing to be right now. Being a millennial allows me to be as creative as I want to be without any pressure to follow a set path. Most millennials I meet have a 9-5 job and hustle they are passionate about that also makes them money. This is one the greatest freedoms of our generation!
